HCLTech, a globally renowned technology company, is strengthening its presence in Hyderabad by launching a new state-of-the-art tech center, which will generate 5,000 additional employment opportunities.
The announcement was made following a meeting between Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, and HCLTech's Global CEO & Managing Director, C. Vijayakumar. The meeting took place at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on January 20, 2025.
Strategically located in Hyderabad's Hi-Tech City, the new 3,20,000 sq. ft. facility will focus on delivering cutting-edge solutions in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. It aims to serve global clients across key sectors such as hi-tech, life sciences, and financial services. Additionally, the facility has earned Gold Certification from the Indian Green Building Council, highlighting HCLTech's dedication to sustainable business operations.
Speaking on the expansion, C. Vijayakumar, CEO & Managing Director of HCLTech, stated, "Hyderabad continues to be a vital part of our global operations, thanks to its robust infrastructure and talented workforce. This new facility will enhance our capabilities and contribute significantly to the local tech landscape." He further extended an invitation to the Chief Minister and IT Minister to inaugurate the facility next month.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed HCLTech's investment, emphasizing that Hyderabad's appeal to global IT firms remains strong. He remarked that the expansion reinforces the city's position as a premier IT destination and reflects the state's business-friendly environment.
IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu highlighted the Telangana government's commitment to nurturing the tech ecosystem. He encouraged HCLTech to explore expansion into tier 2 and tier 3 cities to create more job opportunities for local talent. He assured full support from the state government to facilitate HCLTech's growth and expansion plans in Telangana.
HCLTech has been operational in Hyderabad since 2007 and, with the launch of this new facility, will now have five centers across the city, further strengthening its footprint in the region.
